SS Research

There were many historical figures and cultural groups had roles in tranforming society. Research these people:
Mansa Musa, Confucius, Charlemagne and Qin Shi Huangdi

On Monday and Tuesday, find out about who these people were and list some basic facts about them. Think about their impact on past and present societies of Europe and South America.
You will be finding out more and creating a product later on in the week.

PI and PIE

http://corbettharrison.com/lessons/Enemy-Pie.htm

We have talked about Pi and Pie. Today we listened to Enemy Pie. Strange name for a pie, huh?? If you could make an enemy pie, what would you put in it?
Click on the website and read the information.
The assignment you have for this weekend is listed on the first part of the Writer's Notebook information. Pick one of these questions to come up with the name of a creative pie.
  • What emotion word could you put in front of the word pie to make a dessert that doesn't really exist but sounds interesting? Jealousy Pie? Exhilaration Pie?
  • What abstract noun would make an interesting title for a pie? Creativity Pie? Intelligence Pie? Greed Pie? Wealth Pie? Friendship Pie?

  • Create an interesting name for a creative pie, then create a Pi Poem that describes that pie to us. Illustrate your Pi Poem about Pie.

A PI poem's lines has the PI numbers as the number of words for each line.

Illustrate your poem and bring it in on Monday!

I'm looking forward to your PI POEM!
